The NVision Team works hard to excel as Geospatial Technology Integrators. Our efforts have been recognized at the national level by both the federal government and the private sector. At NVision we view these awards as benchmarks letting us know we are heading in the right direction as we climb higher.

2009 Mississippi Company to Watch
The Mississippi Technology Alliance and the Edward Lowe Foundation named NVision Solutions, Inc. as a "Mississippi Company to Watch" award recipient for 2009.

The "Mississippi Companies to Watch" award program recognizes second-stage startup companies distinguishing themselves by their "innovative products" and "unique processes."  The competition was created by the Edward Lowe Foundation in Cassopolis, Michigan. Companies are judged for their "special strengths" which revolve around a company's innovative products and business practices, special use of technology, work within their community and more.

In addition to other second-stage Mississippi companies, the ceremony also honored legendary Mississippi innovators in attendance including Jim Barksdale, former CEO of Netscape; Apollo 13 Astronaut Fred Haise; heart surgery pioneer Dr. James Hardy; and Fred Carl, founder of Viking Range Corporation.

At ESRI’s 2009 Worldwide Business Partner Conference in Palm Springs, California, ESRI President Jack Dangermond awarded NVision Solutions, Inc. the ESRI Partner of the Year Award on Mar. 22, 2009. This award recognizes the ESRI Business Partner who has achieved strong sales, brought an innovative product to the market and expanded ESRI’s product growth in distinguished areas. ESRI presented the Award to NVision COO Craig Harvey.

The award recognizes NVision's active involvement in the ESRI software reseller program as well as NVision's work on the "All Hazards Network" or HazNet which is a real-time, GIS and Web-based common operating picture for emergency management which helps government and private industry implement the federally-mandated Incident Command System (ICS).

NVision has been an ESRI Business Partner since 2002 and this award represents the fourth industry award presented by ESRI to NVision.

NVision Receives Boeing's Second Highest Honor: The Silver Phantom Award

Boeing Integrated Defense Systems presented the NVision HazNet Team the Boeing Silver Phantom Award which is the second highest award within the Boeing Company for Excellence in Engineering. NVision's team successfully supported Boeing in 2007 and 2008 including assisting with exercise control for two Pacific Northwest homeland defense exercises conducted by The Center for Asymmetric Warfare. NVision also demonstrated the HazNet system at several Boeing Technology Expos for federal customers.

Since NVision and Boeing began collaboration on the HazNet system it has been adopted by NASA, St. Tammany Parish Louisiana, and Hancock County Mississippi.

  In December 2007, NASA selected NVision as a top 20 producer of technology for NASA funded innovative development that included NASA’s Dual Use “CAN” and SBIR funding. NVIsion has been the recipient of nearly 2 million dollars towards NASA funded research, over half of which was matched by NVision and NVision clients.

NVision Solutions, Inc. was selected as one of the winners of the 2006 Tibbetts Awards. NVision CIO Craig Harvey received the award on Sept. 26 at the Wyndham Washington, located at 1400 M Street NW in Washington, DC.

Named for Roland Tibbetts-the person acknowledged as the father of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program-these prestigious, national awards are made annually to those small firms, projects, organizations and individuals judged to exemplify the very best in SBIR achievement. NVision is one of 55 companies in the U.S. to receive this award. NVision was selected from over 4,000 companies that receive contract and grants under the SBIR Program each year.

Craig Harvey of NVision Solutions, Inc. was selected as the 2006 Mississippi Small Business Person of the Year. The U.S. Small Business Administration sponsors this award competition to recognize hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication to community that make small businesses the engine that drives the U.S. economy. One outstanding entrepreneur is named to represent each state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam as State Small Business Persons of the Year. Representing Mississippi and NVision Solutions, Craig was honored in Washington, DC, in April during National Small Business Week.

NVision CIO Craig Harvey and Vice President Don Peyton accepted one of ESRI's highest honors, the "Special Achievement in GIS" award (SAG) from ESRI president Jack Dangermond at the 2005 ESRI International User Conference. The NVision team received the award for the Realtime Emgergency Action Coordination Tool (REACT) developed by NVision for Homeland Security. The 2005 award is the second SAG award NVision has received from ESRI. The REACT system is now featured in ESRI's online User Showcase.

Socorro Harvey and Craig Harvey of NVision Solutions, Inc. attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Trent Lott National Center for Excellence in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship, at the USM campus in Hattiesburg MS on the 24th of February 2005. During the ceremony Sen. Lott commented on the importance of centers of excellence located at universities and research centers throughout Mississippi. Among others, he specifically mentioned the fast growing remote sensing and geospatial industries within Mississippi and at Stennis Space Center in particular. Senator Lott took a few minutes after the ceremony to congratulate Socorro Harvey on recent awards won by her company: ESRI New Business Partner of the Year, 2004 Innovator of the Year of Louisiana, and 2005 Small Business Innovator of the Year for Mississippi. NVision Solutions, Inc was also certified as an 8(a) contractor by the U.S. Small Business Administration in February of 2005.

At ESRI’s 2005 Worldwide Business Partner Conference in Palm Springs, California, NVision Solutions, Inc. was the recipient for the ESRI New Partner of the Year Award on Feb. 13, 2005. This award recognizes the ESRI Business Partner who has achieved strong sales, brought an innovative product to the market and expanded ESRI’s product growth in distinguished areas. ESRI President Jack Dangermon presented the Award to NVision Executive VPs Craig Harvey and Don Peyton.

In addition to being a very active ESRI reseller, NVision developed and deployed the Real-time Emergency Action Coordination Tool (REACT), built on ESRI's ArcGIS, ArcSDE, and ArcIMS, to help Emergency Management officials and first-responders prepare for, manage, and recover from crisis situations such as hurricanes, terrorist threats, or any other public safety emergency. NVision also developed a robust tracking system capable of mapping and querying up-to-the-second position information in ArcIMS for vehicles, marine vessels, and aircraft tracked via GPS transponder or passive radar.

NVision Solutions, Inc., was selected as the winner in the Small Business Innovation category for the 2005 Salute to Business and Industry Awards program. This prestigious statewide recognition program is sponsored by the Mississippi Business Journal. Companies are judged by an independent panel of business experts on their contributions to the region and leadership in their segment.

NVision garnered this prestigious honor for REACT (Real-time Emergency Action Coordination Tool), their flagship product. REACT is the result of NVision partnering with NASA’s Stennis Space Center and St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, to prototype a computer system enhancing the ability of first-responders to react to natural disasters, homeland security threats, and other emergencies faster, more efficiently, and with greater safety.

The State of Louisiana awarded NVision Solutions, Inc. the Governor's Technology Innovator of the Year Award for 2004 on Oct. 14, 2004 at the Louisiana Business Technology Expo in Baton Rouge. The award was in recognition of NVision's Real-Time Emergency Action Coordination Tool (REACT) to help Emergency Management officials and first-responders at the St. Tammany Parish Emergency Operations Center in Covington prepare, manage, and recover from crisis situations such as hurricanes, terrorist threats, or any other public safety emergency. In addition to NVision staff members, NASA officials and executive members of the Enterprise for Innovative Geospatial Solutions (EIGS) also attended the ceremony. NVision is scheduled to install similar systems in Jefferson Parish, Lou. and Medford County, N.J.

NASA presented Craig Harvey and Zack Watts of NVision with the NASA Tech Briefs Award for their work on the "U.S. Digital Landsat Mosaic Viewer". The project was a viewing application capable of displaying Landsat satellite imagery for the entire U.S. which was included in a four cd set distributed with the application. NASA gave the application to schools and members of Congress to help raise awareness about the importance of NASA's Earth Science mission.

NVision's Craig Harvey, Joel Lawhead, and Zack Watts received on of ESRI's highest honors, the "Special Achievement in GIS" award. The NVision team received the award for individual work on the Mississippi Space Commerce Initiative's Mississippi View project. Mississippi View, part of the AmericaView program, is a statewide geo-spatial online data archive which allows users to view and download data for the entire state of Mississippi including both vector and raster data sets acquired from MARIS, USGS, and Space Imaging. Mississippi View uses ArcIMS for data display and is one of the largest sites of its kind.
